Politicians incapable of acting over crisis
Sir, – At a time of intense crisis when government should be making, and taking, effective corrective decisions instead of internecine bickering, the general situation continues to deteriorate.
Meanwhile, the longsuffering public is bombarded by media broadcasts on one crisis after another – the NHS, poverty, war, mental health, global warming, etc.
Unfortunately, it would seem that leading politicians are being inhibited from taking necessary decisions by some form of ultra vires: from which they must free themselves before Armageddon strikes. Kenneth Miln.
