● Shoppers in Kirkcaldy’s Mercat Centre will have the opportunit­y to win prizes this Saturday as the KVC Hub, one of the town’s first Warm Spaces, will hold a fundraiser between 10am and 2pm.

The aim of the event is to raise money so the hub can open on more days of the week as, presently, it is only open on Fridays from 11am until 2pm.

● Kinnoull Parish Church in Perth has arranged for a series of events to take place in its hall every Tuesday and Thursday for the foreseeabl­e future, where elderly residents can pop in for some warmth, company and something to eat throughout the day.

The aim of the initiative is to help older members of the public who may be struggling with energy bills or are living on their own and wish to meet up with other people.

● There will be a fundraisin­g table sale held in the Eassie and Nevay Hall this Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

There will be 20 tables including artwork, plants and children’s toys, with tasty treats also on sale and everyone is welcome to come along.

● A Harris Academy Former Pupils’ Associatio­n Lunch will be held on December 5 at the Woodlands Hotel in Broughty Ferry at noon, with a start of 12.30pm.

The cost, per person, is £21, with those who wish to attend being asked to contact Freida Soutar on 0138256278­8.

● The Bellshill Salvation Army Band will visit Lowson Memorial Church in Forfar on December 11, which is the first visit since 2019 as a result of the Covid pandemic.

The band will be hosting the event to raise money for the church’s foodbank.
