Woman held after police raid two city flats in drug search
Police raided two flats on a Dundee street as drug warrants were executed yesterday morning.
Evidence bags were removed from at least one of the addresses on Balunie Avenue in Douglas.
At least 10 officers were at the junction of Balunie Avenue and Baldovie Place just after 9am.
Police Scotland confirmed there is an ongoing investigation with one woman taken away in a van.
People living in the area said officers in riot gear were part of the operation and at least two people were interviewed.
One neighbour said : “We saw the police entering the block and we
heard banging. The police came out with clear and brown evidence bags from the block, there was a few of them.
“There was a visible police presence here until at least 11am outside the flats.
“One woman was taken away by police in the van and another one was interviewed at the scene.
“Initially I was bit shocked to see what was unfolding and just the number of police that were here.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers executed drugs search warrants at addresses in Balunie Avenue, Dundee at around 9.30am.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
