Office and flats plan for former nightclub

-

One of Arbroath’s historic hotels could finally disappear under an office and flats conversion plan for the prominent building.

The former Waverley on the corner of Catherine Street has lain empty for nearly 15 years.

It last welcomed revellers as the Odin nightclub.

But the premises shut in 2008 and its alcohol licence was relinquished.

Now a local developer has lodged plans with the council to bring the prominent corner property back into use.

Montrose-based Thyme Properties say their plans will deliver office space and employment in Arbroath while retaining the original street scene.

The basement would be used for storage and the ground floor as office space for a letting agent.

On the first floor, there would be two onebedroom flats.

The second floor would be converted to a threebedroom flat, with an outside patio area.
