STARS AIM TO SHINE AGAINST COVENTRY

-

Dundee Stars are ready to exorcise some of their demons against Coventry Blaze tonight – and are full of confidence after snapping their sevengame losing streak at the weekend.

The Stars face Blaze for the third time in as many weeks after losing their two previous games 7-2 and 5-1.

Coventry sit third in the Elite League standings while Dundee occupy eighth – but despite the large scorelines both games between them have been competitive.

Stars are hungry for revenge and feel they have a point to prove against the Blaze.

They will also do it with a full squad available after being five players short in the last match.

Latest signing Chris Lijdsman could make his debut with the Canadian defender awaiting international clearance.

Stars head coach Jeff Mason said: “It is important for us to go into that building and start well because they are a team who come out fast and hard at home.

“Obviously, we did not weather the storm very well the last time we were there, so there is a big focus on coming out and playing a good and solid first period.

“We certainly played well last time out against Cardiff and I thought we did a lot of good things during our last road game in Guildford.

“So, off the back of two pretty solid performances, we just need to carry the momentum and the confidence forward in Coventry tonight and make sure we get off to a good start.

“After watching back the game here against them, there were a number of things we did quite well but by then the game was out of reach.”

Stars’ next home game will be against Fife Flyers on Saturday night.

Face-off tonight is at 7.30pm and will be shown live on Viaplay Sports.
