Bill for Kinnoull Street parking

-

Sir, – We recently (Sunday October 23) attended an excellent concert at Perth Concert Hall.

It was a wet night, and road closures on our route made us run later than expected, so we decided to park as close as possible, and Google took us to the Kinnoull Street car park.

When we went to pay, on our return, it was difficult to get the machine to accept the car registration at first, and then it did not respond to a card being offered.

But we eventually got it to accept coins, which we fed in until it appeared to need no more. There were a number of other users who appeared to have similar difficulties with the system.

Today we have received a demand for payment of £60 (£100 if not paid in 14 days) with a nice photo of our car entering and leaving.

No clarification that we paid/didn’t pay too much, or wrong reg – just a demand.

How long has this been happening, and why is it still happening?

Alex Browne. Barons Hill Avenue, Linlithgow.
