House of Dun near Montrose has planned a series of events in the lead-up to Christmas, for everyone to get involved in and celebrate some early festive cheer.

There will be a wreath-making class on December 3 from 10.30am until 1.30pm and Father Christmas will be making a visit on December 10 and 11, with tickets available on the House of Dun website.

Dundee Ladies Probus Club is to hold a meeting on November 28 to hear Alison Johnson of Bowbridge Farm in Fife talk about her life with alpacas.

The meeting will start at 10.30am and will be held at the Best Western Queens Hotel. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Forfar Probus Club held a meeting and welcomed Robbie Murray, who gave an illustrate­d talk on his life.

Members enjoyed the talk and many questions were asked. The next meeting will be on December 6 with local Salvation Army major Jim Mccluskey.

Broughty Ferry Church of Scotland will be holding a craft fair with tea, coffee and mince pies in the New Kirk Hall on November 26 from 10am until noon.

There will be a variety of stalls selling handmade gifts and cake and candy. Tickets cost £3, with children allowed in free with an adult.

● The Fordell Firs Scout Adventures Centre in Dunfermlin­e is making life easier for mums, dads and carers this year by offering one-day Christmas activity sessions for children in November.

The supervised sessions are open to children aged from five to 12 years old on November 26 and 27 and cost £30 per child, with those interested being asked to contact 01383 412704 to book in.
