KIRK KEEN TO SEE A RISE IN PERFORMANCE LEVELS
Brechin City boss Andy Kirk will be looking for an improvement in standards today as the Glebe Park men play on home turf for a third successive game.
City are set to welcome Forres Mechanics, though the game will be subject to an early pitch inspection after the persistent rain of Thursday and yesterday.
The Can-cans have just beaten Keith in the Highland League Cup, which came on the back of an impressive point at home against league champions Fraserburgh.
Kirk told the club’s official website: “We’ve set a lot of high standards within the group in terms of our performances and last week we fell short in most areas of the pitch.
“We’re delighted that Botti Biabi got a hat-trick as he worked hard throughout the game. His second goal at the start of the second half came at a good time but we didn’t kick on from that.”
Meanwhile City will now play Lossiemouth in the second round of the Highland League Cup after Nairn were removed from the competition for fielding an ineligble player.
