Title hopefuls set to clash at Craigie Park

-

Today’s big game in the Mcbookie.com Midlands League is at Craigie Park where Dundee East Craigie take on Kirriemuir Thistle.

Craigie will be without Jordan Conway and have doubts over Lee Cameron and Andrew Mcdonald while Kirrie will be without father and son Bryan and Liam Duell because of suspension.

Carnoustie Panmure hope to continue their game of catch-up as they entertain Blairgowrie at Laing Park.

The reigning champions were held to a 1-1 draw at Downfield last week but boss Phil Mcguire will be looking for his side to take maximum points from the visit of a Blairgowrie side that have been hit by injury problems for most of the season.

Lochee United begin the Kevin Harper era with a trip to Foxhall Park to take on Coupar Angus.

Former Hibs, Derby County, Portsmouth and Stoke City winger Harper was appointed at the beginning of the week and has had just two sessions with his new squad, but will be looking for them to hit the ground running.

Broughty Athletic manager Darren Scott will be looking for a big improvement as they face a difficult trip to Ogilvy Park to face Arbroath Vics.

The Angus side welcome back Sam Clark and Kieran Martin while the Fed are without the suspended Ruari Henry, the injured Ryan Ferguson and Josh Skelly, with Lewis Boylan a doubt.

League leaders Dundee North End make the trip to Perth to take on Letham at Seven Acres.

North End were lethal in front of goal last weekend, scoring 11 goals against Scone Thistle at home and will be full of confidence.

Both sides are expected to have the same squads available for the game.

Tayport will be looking to take full advantage of struggling Brechin Vics as they host the bottom club at the Canniepairt.

Port will be missing Jamie Gill, Jamie Hume, Ross Mcdonald, Kyle Mcmulkin and Nick Edwards.

Forfar West End, who had a free week last weekend, should be at full strength for the trip to fellow strugglers Scone Thistle.

Mitch Hay will be absent from the Downfield squad for the away clash with Dundee Violet.

Lochee Harp face Dundee St James at New Beechwood Park in a game vital to both teams with three points being a massive help.

Montrose Roselea – who are hoping to return to the Midlands League – continue their North Region Premier League campaign with a home game against Nairn St Ninian at Links Park.
