ACrieff man was found dead yesterday on the road near Fowlis Wester by a tramp. The deceased was William Donaghey, colporteur, who resided at Burrell Street, Crieff. He had been carrying out his duties for the Colportage Society, which he had represente­d in the district for some years.

Mr Donaghey was a respectabl­e and kindly disposed man, about 60 years of age, and was a native of the North of Ireland. He had been in Crieff for some considerab­le time, having formerly been an agent for a sewing machine firm.

The deceased is survived by a widow and his grown-up family.
