-

A 50-year-old man has been detained by police after an incident in Glenrothes yesterday.

Police were called to the situation on Collydean’s Dunlin Avenue at 4.36pm and locals were told to remain in their homes

while the situation was being handled.

One resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said she had been told to go

inside. She told The Courier: “There was some of us outside but Dunlin Avenue is totally shut off.

“The police shouted at us to go inside. I saw about four police with guns. It’s quite scary actually.”

Duty Inspector Blair Rennie said: “A police incident has taken place earlier at Dunlin Avenue, Glenrothes, which has now concluded.

“The incident is now resolved and a 50-year-old male has been detained by police.”
