Fife man dies in Wales motorway crash

A Fife man has died in a one-vehicle crash on the M4 motorway in Wales.

The collision happened at around 12.15pm on Sunday on the eastbound carriagewa­y of the M4 between junctions 30 and 32.

The car, a grey Mercedes, hit the central reservatio­n before coming to a halt on the hard shoulder.

The 69-year-old driver died at the scene.

South Wales Police have not named the driver and have issued an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

A statement from South Wales Police said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this time.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or the way in which the grey Mercedes was being driven prior to the incident, or who may have any dashcam footage to contact us.

“If you can help, please contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number 2200392167.”
