‘GENUINE’ MARE SEALS BIG WIN
National Hunt trainer Nick Alexander, based at Kinneston on the shores of Loch Leven, had a big win at Haydock on Saturday.
His Stainsby Girl won the two-mile two-furlong handicap hurdle, worth £50,000, in the hands of Nick’s five pound claiming son Kit.
It was a tremendous achievement considering Kit was having his first mount in public since January.
Nick said: “The horse is a genuine, brave, talented mare.
“Kit took control and the combination did really well, especially considering the top horses and jockeys they were up against.”
