Breen and Sutherland shine for the reserves

-

Dunfermline Athletic Reserves secured a 2-0 win over Hibernian at East Mains thanks to goals from Rhys Breen and Taylor Sutherland.

The match was at Hibernian’s training centre and the Pars took the lead through Breen’s deflected free-kick.

Sutherland added the second midway through the second half.

Dunfermline were facing a young Hibs side with Kevin Dobrowski in goal and veteran Darren Mcgregor in defence.

The Pars had a smattering of first-team players and lined up with Chris Hamilton in the middle of a back three.

Breen is an established defender, but the same can’t be said about his status as a free-kick taker.

Even still, he stood over one after Andrew Tod was fouled and saw his strike deflect off the wall and in to take the lead.

Sutherland then did brilliantly to bring Kyle Macdonald’s low cross under control and double Dunfermline’s advantage.
