RING KING BIBBY SECURES SECOND GOLD OF THE YEAR

Perth Railway Amateur Boxing Club’s British lightwelterweight champion Luke Bibby has won his second multi-nations gold medal of the year.

His latest success came in the North Macedonia capital Skopje.

He was part of the Scotland team which also won three silver and four bronze medals.

Bibby was awarded a walkover in the final due to his opponent, North Macedonian boxer Ilhan Ozmen, withdrawing. But he had to compete well to get to the finale.

This included a hard-fought points win in his semi-final against Haben Zere, of Eritrea.

Bibby said: “I’m happy to win my second multinations gold for Scotland this year.”
