Events offering support and advice for residents on cost-of-living crisis

Two events are being held to give Angus residents help with the cost-ofliving crisis.

The sessions are open to everyone and take place at Brechin Cathedral Hall on November 30 and Forfar’s Royal British Legion on December 7, from 2pm to 6.30pm.

Help at the roadshows will include:

– Advice on dealing with rising costs – Money-saving tips – Benefits advice – Budget cooking demonstrations

– Grab bags with cooking ingredients

– Free period products. Free refreshments will also be provided at both sessions.

The roadshows, which are being run by Angus Council, will feature a range of organisations.

Councillor George Meechan, spokesperson for welfare rights, poverty and equalities, said: “We know people are worried financially with higher energy bills, food and housing costs.

“I’m pleased to see two additional roadshows running in Brechin and Forfar, extending the support available to the people of Angus.

“The council is working closely with partners and stakeholders to make sure support is available to help households in Angus.

“These roadshows give people the chance to speak in confidence to find out what support is available financially as well as getting advice on where to get help if needed and tips on how to make their money stretch a bit further.

“The roadshow is open to everyone, so please come along.”

More sessions are planned in the new year.
