● On December 3, Perth Methodist Church will be holding a coffee morning and soup lunch from 10.30am until 1.30pm and all are welcome.
Soup and bacon rolls will be served from 11am and there will also be a sales table selling home baking, Christmas gifts and books.
● New images of Dundee, all taken from the sky, have been unveiled at the city’s waterfront, with the large framed pictures brightening up the hoardings between Earl Grey Place West and Thomson Avenue on South Crichton Street into the New Year.
Mark Flynn, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee, who revealed the images for the first time yesterday, said: “Our city is stunning from almost every angle and seeing it from the air in a way that few of us get to do adds another breathtaking perspective.”
● Fife young people from armed forces and veteran families visited the Scottish Parliament to meet deputy presiding officer Annabelle Ewing earlier this month.
The visit proved a vital first step to ensuring elected representatives hear directly from young people to better understand their experiences, their support needs and the importance of their voice being heard.
● Dundee University’s Dr Mahima Swamy has been named as one of the rising stars of European science, after being chosen to join the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) Young Investigator network.
She said: “I am really excited to be a part of this network and meet all the dynamic young scientists doing cutting-edge research across Europe.”
