Chamber picks up Living Wage gong

Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce (DACC) has been crowned as Local Champions in the Living Wage Scotland Awards 2022 at a formal ceremony.

The awards, sponsored by SSE, were held at the Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh.

There were a number of categories at the awards, including Employees Choice, Trailblaze­r, Newcomer, Living Hours,

Outstandin­g Leadership and the Local Champion award.

DACC made it as a finalist alongside Virgin Hotels, NHS Grampian and Enable to name just a few.

Alison Henderson, CEO of DACC, said: “We were delighted to be included as a finalist for the Local Champion award, but to win really is fantastic!

“We have been a living wage employer for many years and we do that to support our team.

“It is the right thing to do and we encourage every business that can to pay their employees the real living wage.”

The Local Champion award recognises accredited employers who have shown ongoing commitment to the living wage movement through their actions and who can show a positive impact within their community.
