CURLING

Despite suffering a semi-final defeat, Scotland’s Rebecca Morrison remains determined at the Le Gruyere European Championships as Scotland keep their focus on their principal target for the week.

Skip Morrison, Gina Aitken, Sophie Sinclair and Sophie Jackson had set out in Ostersund aiming to bring back a medal from their first major championship together – which they can still achieve. The Scots fell to a heavy 11-3 semi-final defeat at the hands of Denmark, who had topped the seedings after the round-robin stage, but will now have their sights set on a bronze medal. They face Italy, who were beaten by reigning world champions Switzerland in the other semifinal, in the bronze medal match this afternoon.
