Sir Cliff and Stormzy aim to score festive No 1 ahead of football tunes

-

Sir Cliff Richard, Stormzy and football anthems are among the tracks in contention for being Christmas No 1.

Youtube star Ladbaby, real name Mark Hoyle, and his wife Roxanne, known as Ladbaby Mum, made chart history last year after landing the coveted spot for a fourth consecutive year.

Their track, Sausage Rolls For Everyone featuring Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John, helped raise funds for The Trussell Trust foodbanks.

The social media stars have not announced a new release but, if they do return, they will face tough competition from global superstars and a host of festive classics.

Sir Cliff could net his fourth festive chart-topper with Heart Of Christmas, lead single from his album Christmas With Cliff.

Grime star Stormzy may also be in the running with his track Firebabe,

as well as Sam Smith’s new festive tune Night Before Christmas.

American superstar Taylor Swift is releasing an acoustic version of current No 1 Anti-hero.

David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and The Lightning Seeds have returned with a reimagining of their Three Lions hit which has earned them four No 1s

since its release in 1996. Three Lions (It’s Coming Home For Christmas) references England’s win at the Women’s Euros this summer and the current World Cup in Qatar.

The Farm are putting out a 12in remix colour vinyl single of 1990 hit All Together Now, while boxer Tyson Fury’s version of Sweet Caroline might also scale the charts.
