Group of teenagers attacked on bus by two men

-

Police were called to Glenrothes bus station on Saturday night after two men attacked a group of teens on a service to Pitcairn.

According to passengers, the teens had an argument with the two men before boarding the 37A Stagecoach bus at around 9.30pm.

The pair then followed the teens – who are believed to be around 14 or 15 – on to the vehicle before punching them repeatedly.

One passenger said: “As I was getting on to the bus a couple of guys in their mid or late twenties walked up and started yelling at the kids.

“Both sides were yelling at each other.

“The guys were saying something about how the kids had looked at them funny.

“The teens got on the bus but one of the guys barged on after them and his mate followed.

“They started swinging at the teens, throwing punches.

“It was pretty serious.”

The teens fought back against their attackers, who left the bus before police arrived.

The attack came as a surprise to those on board.

The passenger added: “There were six or seven teens, three boys and then three or four girls.

“Once the guys were gone the driver phoned the police and the bus was delayed.”

Stagecoach has been contacted for comment.
