Stewart pedal power keeps title in sight
Dundee cyclist Mark Stewart can still win the Champions League despite dropping two places to fourth after week three of the competition in Paris.
The 2018 Commonwealth gold medallist topped the endurance rankings after the opening round in Mallorca before losing ground in Berlin last week.
The 27-year-old was unable to rediscover his Mallorca form in Paris as he finished ninth in the Scratch Race, but his fifth place in the Elimination Race keeps him within striking distance of the leaders going to this weekend’s final two rounds in London.
Stewart now has 68 points, just 12 behind Swiss rider Claudio Imhof.
