Town coffee shop to shut within weeks

-

Costa Coffee in Carnoustie is set to close in December, making it the latest casualty of the high street.

The coffee chain confirmed its store in the Angus town will close on December 11 after a sign was posted in the window.

It reads: “Dear loyal customers of Costa Carnoustie, it is with a heavy heart that we must inform you our beautiful spectacular one of a kind store will close forever.”

The reason for the store’s closure was not confirmed.

Costa joins a long list of establishments in Tayside that have taken the decision to close up shop in 2022.

In July, Carnoustie High Street lost Little Feet shoe shop, which had been trading for almost a decade.

A spokesperson for Costa Coffee said: “We can confirm that the Costa Coffee store on 97 High Street, Carnoustie, will be permanently closing as of December 11.

“This store is owned and operated by one of our franchise partners and at this current time, no further details on this store closure can be shared. We will look to provide an update.”
