Taxi driver cleared of causing a disturbance
A Perth taxi driver has been cleared of causing a disturbance at his mother-in-law’s house.
Alasdair Fleming went on trial accused of thumping and kicking at the front door of the Bute Drive property in August.
It was alleged he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, likely to cause fear or alarm.
Perth Sheriff William Wood found him not guilty after evidence from Mr Fleming’s wife, her friend and a neighbour.
Under crossexamination by solicitor David Holmes, his wife admitted she had asked prosecutors not to proceed with the case.
Sheriff Wood told 38-year-old Fleming: “I am not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that you committed this crime.”
