City firms honoured by women’s business body
Business Women Scotland honoured two Dundee firms at its recent business awards ceremony.
Dr Jennifer Raowilliams won the coveted Rising Star of the Year award for her cosmetics brand J-RAO.
She is challenging the industry by creating luxury products with ethical values that are environmentally conscious, gender inclusive and embrace the circular economy through design.
Jennifer said she was thrilled to be recognised at the awards ceremony, which was held in Glasgow.
Meanwhile Samantha Paton, owner of fashion brand Isolated Heroes, collected the social media marketing award.
She said: “My brand is all about making women feel great and, today, it’s
my turn. I’m so delighted to bring the trophy back to Dundee.”
Business Women Scotland is a membership platform providing business advice to women.
The group was founded 14 years ago by Lynne Kennedy, who struggled with her mindset, limiting
beliefs and loneliness in business.
Award winners were chosen by a panel of judges including Jacqueline Dobson, president of Barrhead Travel, Rekha Welsh of DSL business finance, Alyson Pearson of Business Gateway and director of Ammu Accountants, Jane Grant.
