Church helps Ukrainians with holiday

-

A Dundee church that launched a gift appeal last month to help Ukrainian refugees celebrate their national festive holiday has collected 356 presents in total.

Broughty Ferry Baptist Church started the campaign so that Ukrainian refugees can still celebrate their holiday of St Nicholas Day on December 19.

On the Christian holiday, children wait for St Nicholas to come and put a present under their pillows – provided that they were good that year.

On Saturday, people went to the church to select gifts, with a post on social media highlighting the church’s gratitude to everyone who donated gifts or money.
