Housing village plants 400 trees in community
Residents at the Dykes of Gray village in Dundee have come together to plant more than 400 trees as part of a community event with the Woodland Trust and housebuilders Springfield Properties. The village, which recently won the Best Public Realm title at the Uk-wide Whathouse? Awards, was built by Springfield Properties and has been designed to include everything a community needs to thrive, including a wide range of homes and local amenities. The Woodland Trust donated 420 trees, across 11 different species, with Springfield providing the land, medals and refreshments on the day of the planting to more than 50 green-fingered volunteers.
