● Stormontfi­eld Community Hall is set to celebrate its 40th anniversar­y.

It was built between 1820 and 1840 as a school and closed its doors in 1973. The building was officially opened as a hall in 1984 by Countess Dorothea of Mansfield.

On April 14, it will celebrate its anniversar­y with an exhibition of photograph­s and informatio­n. Coffee, tea and cake will be served. Guests include former pupils. Those with a connection to the hall are welcome to attend and should send an email to stormontfi­eldca@gmail.com or message the Stormontfi­eld Community Hall page on Facebook.

● Freuchie Cricket Club’s recent coffee morning raised £553 toward club funds.

A spokespers­on said: “Many thanks to all who came along on the day and to those who so generously donated to the baking stall, tombola and raffle.”

● Arbroath Accordion & Fiddle Club has now moved its programme of meetings to Sunday afternoons. Its next meeting will be held on Sunday April 7 in the Meadowbank Inn at 1.30pm. Doors open at 1pm. Club chairman Tony Simpson said: “The club committee recently carried out a membership survey and there was clear indication a move to afternoon meetings would be a positive step.”

● Kirkcaldy Foodbank is organising an initiative to help ensure clients are receiving the support they need from other agencies. The Spring Boost will take place at the Linton Lane Centre on April 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 between 10am-12.30pm. It follows on from the success of November’s Winter Boost when the Community Welfare Support team and CARF supported foodbank clients at three of its hubs.
