7 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND
SPRING FAMILY FUN DAY
Glamis Castle is running a family fun day tomorrow from 10am-4pm.
There will be a bouncy castle, laser clay pigeon shooting, segways, football darts and an assault course.
Children can also participate in sand art, a beat the goalie game and craft activities.
The Glamis Scouts are hosting an activity stall and visitors can get involved involving Nerf guns, soft archery and a tombola.
Food and drinks traders as well as local crafters and suppliers will be offering goods. Eleanor Brown, the fermented forager, will be running foraging walks for youngsters.
Children will learn how to safely identify what is safe to eat and enjoy treats made with wild ingredients.
Walks will begin at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

SCOTLAND’S DAFFODIL FESTIVAL
Backhouse Rossie Estate in Fife hosts the festival this weekend. Running from 10am-4.30pm today and tomorrow, the event gives visitors the chance to see thousands of historic and modern daffodils, as well as other spring flowering plants. There will be a variety of stalls, a spring wedding table for inspiration, a bear walk for children and a woodland walk quiz. Visitors can also view some of the first daffodil cultivars ever created in the UK from the Wordsworth style daffodils by the Backhouse family forbears.
They can also take a walk to Tomb Wood on a path fringed by daffodils. Dogs are not permitted and children under five go free.

FAMILY EASTER PANTO
Pinocchio will hit the Whitehall Theatre stage in Dundee tomorrow.
On the night of a full moon, a fairy turns toyshop owner Dame Delilah’s puppet into a real life boy.
With the help of Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio must refrain from lying or the evil Stromboli will get his way and tour the world with Pinocchio as the star attraction of his show. Doors open at 1pm and the production begins at 2pm.

UNICORN DANCE PARTY
Two unicorns – Melody and Luna – need the help of local youngsters to find their friends. The pair are throwing a dance party in the hopes the other unicorns show up and have invited families to come along to dance.
Dressing up is encouraged. The event is suitable for children under 12 who must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

INSPIRED ILLUSIONS
V&A Dundee is running a drop-in family friendly illusion design session this weekend.
There will be a design challenge, inspired by the Shaping Stories video Magical Mirrors.
Created with dance company Shaper/caper, the video takes inspiration from a kaleidoscope of objects from the Scottish Design Galleries.
Visitors are invited to mix light, reflection and symmetrical shapes to make their own collaged photo and optical paper toys.
They can also enjoy an illuminated selfie spot.
This event is free and runs from 12.30-4.30pm today and tomorrow.
GOAT CUDDLES
The Buffalo Farm at Boglily Farm Steading, near Kirkcaldy, is giving locals the chance to cuddle some baby goats.
Meet the pygmy kids joining the herd and give them a pet.
Spots must be booked via Eventbrite and last for five minutes.
Only one ticket is needed per family, not per person.

HISTORY AND HORROR TOUR OF DUNKELD
Discover Dunkeld’s dark and scary past on a walking tour running tonight.
History and Horror Tours will lead the way through the Perthshire town, exploring the streets and closes while telling stories before reaching a final, frightening destination.
The tour lasts for an hour and a half.
It is recommended for children older than eight. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Sensible footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather and being outdoors should be worn.
The tour starts at 8pm and attendees should meet in front of Dunkeld and Birnam Community Archive. Tickets must be booked in advance via Eventbrite.
