Fed looking to sign off with three wins

-

Midlands League leaders Broughty Athletic enter the final stage of the season with a trip to Beechwood to meet Lochee Harp in the first of their last three matches.

The Fed have made it clear their objective is to win their final three games and wipe out the opposition apart from North End.

The Dokens would have to win their last 10 matches to overtake them if Darren Scott’s side end with three victories.

While they are expecting a tough game, the Fed have reason to be optimistic after winning their last four meetings against the Beechwood club, the last by 7-0 at Whitton Park.

Scott names the same pool that he listed for last week’s postponed match at Tayport, while Harp are minus Daniel Edelston and Elliot Tosh through suspension.

Meanwhile, North End can keep the pressure on the leaders with a win at Coupar Angus.

They accept they may have to win their final 10 matches to clinch the title by a point but even though it’s a tall order, they are the in-form side in the league and will give it their best shot.

They are unlikely to show many changes from the team that beat Scone Thistle while the Foxes include latest signing Innes Barbour from Tayport.

Lochee United aren’t completely out of the title race but would have to win all of their remaining matches and also hope for a Broughty slip up on the run-in.

They will be tested by East Craigie who name a full-strength squad. Bluebells boss Dougie Cameron has no fresh injuries and is looking for a repeat of the form that saw them wallop Letham last Saturday.

Downfield head for Fairfield Park to meet Dundee St James and if past results are anything to go by the Spiders are in for a tough match.

The Fairfield side are without Dylan Higgins through suspension. Spiders gaffer Dave Beveridge hopes his side will be at full strength.

New Tayport manager George Shields hopes to get off to a winning start against Letham at the Canniepairt.

Shields includes Jaden Ferguson, who has joined Scott Mccomiskie as signings from Lochee United, but is without the suspended Jamie Gill.

The Perth side will be looking to bounce back after last week’s heavy defeat from Lochee United but are without Nathan Kennedy who is suspended.

Carnoustie manager Paddy Conway is hoping for some consistency in their remaining matches, starting with a win over Brechin Vics at Laing Park. They are without Kieran Mcwalter but include new signing Jack Bledowski.

Vics hope to include a trialist but are again minus long-term injury victims Crowe, Wood and Leiper.

Scone Thistle manager Charlie King’s selection options are again limited with six players out injured. Cody Bateman is also doubtful, while Calum Black is suspended and Henderson and Leask are on holiday.

Forfar United are hoping to build on the point they picked up at Arbroath Vics but won’t find it easy at Links Park against a Montrose Roselea side who are always difficult to beat at home.

United will be without Joel Nixon and Jay Mcdonald and with a few others nursing injuries will make a late selection.

● Dundee Violet have no injury worries for their clash with Arbroath Vics at Glenesk and are targeting three points.

Vics welcome back Jamie Mather and Lewis Raeside as they look to extend their unbeaten run of four matches but Scott Milne is unavailable after moving south for work purposes.

Blairgowrie boss Marco Notarangelo was disappointed last week’s match was postponed but hopes to get a win at Forfar WE.

He will be without Ryan Beedie, who is suspended, but Elliot Williamson returns.
