Crime writer pays trib­ute to Dundee’s first po­lice­woman

An­gus crime writer Chris Long­muir launched her lat­est crime novel, The Death Of A Doxy, at Water­stones in Dundee.

It is the third ti­tle in the Kirsty Camp­bell Mys­tery Se­ries and is ded­i­cated to the mem­ory of Dundee’s first po­lice­woman Jean Forsyth Thom­son.

The book is set in the city in 1919. Lily Petrie has been bru­tally mur­dered and Dundee po­lice­woman Kirsty Camp­bell is on the case to trap and catch the killer.

Chris, who lives in Mon­trose, is an award-win­ning nov­el­ist whose pre­vi­ous pub­li­ca­tions in the Dundee Crime Se­ries have won the Scot­tish As­so­ci­a­tion of Writ­ers’ Pit­lochry Award and the Dundee In­ter­na­tional Book Prize.
