“I was in­ter­ested to read the ar­ti­cle in The Courier say­ing that many church con­gre­ga­tions are no longer able to se­cure the ser­vices of a reg­u­lar or­gan­ist,” writes Thomas Michie of Kin­glassie.

“We at Kin­glassie Church found our­selves in this po­si­tion when our or­gan­ist of over 20 years re­tired. Be­ing un­able to get an or­gan­ist, we took the de­ci­sion to pur­chase an elec­tronic hym­nal ma­chine.

“It has proved to be very ef­fi­cient. It does not only play all the hymns but it can also be pro­grammed to play other pieces of mu­sic.

“This may be a so­lu­tion con­gre­ga­tions to fol­low if they look­ing for an or­gan­ist.” for are
