The Courier & Advertiser (Dundee Edition) - - COMMENT -

Dramatic news again comes from the battle-fronts. French troops have captured the town of La Fere and crossed the La Fere-Laon railway. In this region the villages along the line of the River Selle are ablaze. The French have also made rapid progress through the St Gobain Forest, which is now practically cleared of the enemy. Further east there has also been a big advance and the loop of the Aisne has been cleared. The British troops are at the gates of Douai, the important manufacturing city.
