Pupils disrupted after school theft
THIVES HAVE have stolen valuable electrical equipment from Blairhall Primary School.
Three laptop computers and a digital camera were taken from the school in the village overnight between Wednesday and Thursday of last week.
The break-in caused disruption for some pupils, who had to be sent home while police took fingerprints and other evidence from the scene.
Acting head teacher Stephen Connolly said: “This was just wanton theft by people who have no regard for children’s education. Children lost a morning of school because of it.
“The police, from what they say, have one or two leads. Obviously we would appeal to anyone in the local community who could help the police with their inquiry to contact them.
“That would be very much appreciated.”
Constable Colin Reddie, who is leading the investigation, said: “The break-in took place overnight on March 21 and 22, and a quantity of electrical equipment was stolen.
“As a result primary one, two and three classes were disrupted and were sent home for half the day.
“I would urge anyone who may have seen anything they consider to be suspicious, or anyone who has information about this crime, to contact Fife Constabulary on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
