Cowdenbeath centre refurbished

-

MAJOR improvements to a Fife leisure centre have been carried out.

With more than 260,000 customers in the last year, Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre is one of the region’s most visited leisure and fitness facilities.

Now a fresh investment of £153,000 has modernised both its changing and meeting rooms.

Fife Sports and Leisure Trust fully refurbished the centre’s changing areas, showers and toilets, with a fresh colour scheme and individual cubicles in two shower areas to improve privacy.

Vanity units with mirrors and hairdryers have also been installed in the changing areas.

Safety and facilities manager Martin Rae said: “Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is committed to providing the highest quality and most affordable sports and leisure opportunities to everyone across Fife and investments like these are essential in making sure our facilities continue to give local communities the best service possible.

“These upgrades will improve the experience of the growing number of visitors who enjoy the centre’s many value forfacilities and programmes.”

A retractable central wall means the centre’s meeting rooms can be divided or joined, adding greater flexibility for a wide range of indoor events.

New air conditioning also means activities can be conducted in a cooler atmosphere and more energy-efficient lighting systems are making the centre more eco-friendly.

In addition, the outdoor pitches have been resurfaced.
