Companies shortlisted for community regeneration
THE CONSTRUCTION services firm ISG and social housing provider Home Scotland are in line for a major award for their work in the multi- million pound regeneration of a Dundee housing scheme.
The companies have been jointly shortlisted as finalists in the community partnership of the year category at the Scottish Homeawards 2012.
The project saw ISG deliver 65 new homes in completing the first phase of the £45 million turnaround scheme.
The firms used social media as a means of communication with local residents and ISG took the opportunity to employ seven apprentices for the duration of the project through its local supply chain companies.
ISG Scotland managing director Andy Mallice said: “providing a positive and long lasting legacy for the communities in which we work has always been of core importance to the business.
“It is clear to see the impact that high quality and well-designed buildings have on the lives of their occupants, but we also recognise that we have an important role to play in enriching the wider community.”
In Scotland, ISG is engaged in a range of social housing projects for Glasgow Housing Association and the contractor has also secured a place on influential framework agreements with Home Scotland and Link.
The awards will decided on June 28.
