Police search for couple who saw man collapsing

-

DETECTIVES investigating the death of a petrol station worker on New Year’s Day have released pictures of two people they want to speak to.

The man and the woman, believed to be of Polish origin, were captured on CCTV cameras inside the filling station in Melksham, Wiltshire.

Police believe they witnessed worker Graham Topp (40) collapse inside the Total Garage on Semington Road at 6am.

The man and the woman left the garage on foot and officers believe they might be able to help establish what happened.

Ambulance crews attended but Mr Topp was declared dead at the scene.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and police are conducting inquiries on behalf of the coroner.

Detective Inspector Mark Power, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are trying to piece together exactly what happened in the last moments of Graham Topp’s life and we believe these two people can assist with this.

“A lthough they witnessed the collapse they didn’t remain at the scene to speak to police and we would like to speak to them as witnesses.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and this is a normal part of the process when we prepare a file for the coroner in readiness for the inquest into this sudden death.”

The woman is described as white, in her early 20s and with dark hair while the man is white, in his mid 20s with short dark hair.

Friends of Mr Topp, a Portsmouth fan, took to social networking sites to pay tribute to the popular overnight garage worker.
