Ticketing questions and answers
Q. How does the Commonwealth Games programme work? A. The XX Commonwealth Games Sport Programme takes place over 11 days.
Each day is broken down into smaller ‘sections’.# During some sessions, medal winners will be decided and /or the medals awarded at a medal ceremony.
Your ticket entitles you to watch every competition taking place within your chosen section. Q. Can I choose seats? A. Your application is for tickets in a particular price category rather than for specific seats as seating plans will not be finalised until 2014.
Most sections have tickets available in more than one category. Q. What does the difference in price categories mean? A. A ticket in price category 1 will provide a better view of the field of play than a ticket in price category 3 in the same session and venue.
All price categories offer a great Games experience. Q. Can I get a concession price? A. Concessionary prices are available for those under 16 or over 60 on July 23, 2014.
Children under two years of age will be considered as ‘babes in arms’ and will not require a ticket. Q. Will wheelchair tickets be available? Wheelchair and Easy Access tickets are available at all sessions and are priced per the lowest price category for each session. Any person with a disability or impairment requiring a personal assistant may request a personal assistant seat at no extra charge, when applying for tickets. Q. Are there any limits on how many tickets I can buy? A. There are ticket limits for each session, details of which are available in the official ticket guide. Q. Will you take payment when I apply for tickets? A. You will only be charged the actual value of your application once the application process is complete.
If your application is successful payment will be taken between September 30 and October 7. Q. How do I pay by cheque or postal order? A. You must send payment for the maximum total value of your application. If you are not allocated all the tickets you apply for the difference will be refunded.
Cheques and postal orders must be in pounds sterling and payable from the person whose name is on the accompanying ticket application.
Cheques and postal orders must be made payable to Glasgow 2014. Q. What happens if there are more applications than tickets? A. For sessions where the demand for tickets exceeds availability Glasgow 2014 will use a fair and simple computerised draw to ensure a completely impartial allocation of tickets for those sessions.
