Man filmed sex taunts at pensioner
A VIDEO nasty showing a deaf and dumb Tayside pensioner taunted with sickening sexual commentary was posted on Facebook by a 24-year-old man.
Kevin Hector enticed a vulnerable 69-year-old woman with learning difficulties into a friend’s house before filming her on his mobile while making a catalogue of explicit remarks.
Due to her disabilities the woman was unaware of what was unfolding and the matter only came to light after horrified family members spotted the degrading footage on the internet.
Playing to the camera, Hector asked, in perverted terms, if the woman was aroused and asked her to perform a sex act on him.
The offshore worker from Burnside Place, Montrose, appeared at Arbroath Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted carrying out the vile act on May 27 this year.
The court heard the woman, who is only able to communicate through sign language and a range of vocal sounds, had been walking in Glenogil Street, Montrose, when she was confronted.
Depute fiscal Hazel Anderson said Hector had arrived at the address under the influence of alcohol some time previously and was left in the house with another man while the owners went out.
“Around 3.55pm, the accused and a friend were standing having a cigarette when the complainer walked past,” she said.
“Mr Hector attempted to engage her in conversation and when he realised she was deaf and dumb he made a gesture offering her a can of beer.”
Once inside the house, Hector took out his mobile and began recording with a “voice over” which Ms Anderson said, “could only be described as disturbing”.
She added: “He decided to post the video he recorded on to his Facebook profile for the enjoyment of others.”
Family members were made aware of the footage and police were contacted.
Hector was later arrested and charged, initially making no comment followed by a full confession during a second interview.
Defence agent Nick Markowski said his client had been drinking heavily and has only a vague recollection of the incident.
Sheriff Peter Paterson asked court social worker Alison Hendry to enquire about setting up community service that would see Hector do unpaid work with deaf people. Sentence was deferred for reports until August 20.
