Chance to have your say on clinics’ relocation

-

THE PUBLIC will be given the opportunity to have its say on plans to relocate health services from two Dunfermline clinics.

NHS Fife will host three events, giving the public the chance to discuss proposals that could see services at the Carnegie and Abbeyview Clinics moved to Queen Margaret Hospital.

The clinics, which house children and adolescent services and cater for patients across West Fife, would merge into what is known as a Primary Care Resource Centre (PCRC) at the site, eleven years after the creation of such a facility was first agreed.

Susan Manion, general manager of the Dunfermline and West Fife Community Health Partnership (CHP), said that relocating the services was a key part in the continued development of the Queen Margaret Hospital.

She said: “The Primary Care Resource Centre forms one part of wider development plans for Queen Margaret Hospital.

“By bringing together multiple primary care and community services on the one site, patients in the West of Fife will benefit in a number of ways, from a reduction in the need to book different appointments at separate healthcare sites — something which is particularly important for patients who require access to more than one service in the same visit — to an increase in the time that specialists have available.”

The three consultation events will take place next month, while comments on the proposals will also be accepted online.

Mrs Manion added: “It’s important that we hear people’s views on the Carnegie and Abbeyview Clinic proposals and we actively welcome all comments.”

The first of the three events will take place on Tuesday August 6 in the Main Hall of Lynebank Hospital from 10am till noon.

Similar events will be held in the Carnegie Library on Thursday 15 August from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday 21 August at Queen Margaret Hospital from 1pm-3pm.

Online comments can also be submitted at www.nhsfife.org/queenmargaret.
