Anna’s taste of TV stardom

A KINGDOM property expert has been emulating television star Kirstie Allsopp in Canada.

Anna Morton, 45, made her screen debut when she was invited to appear on a popular show across the Atlantic.

The estate agent, who works in a property shop in Anstruther, featured on Live Here, Buy This, similar to Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun, in which families seek their dream homes overseas.

Canadian television network HGTV approached Fife-based legal, financial and property company Pagan Osborne to show a couple appearing on the programme what their Canadian dollars might buy in St Andrews.

The firm nominated Anna, no stranger to showing prospective buyers around homes and getting behind the camera to take pictures, to go in front of the lens.

Anna, pictured, said: “We all discussed who would be best to appear on the show and somehow, I got volunteered.

“I must admit it was nerve-wracking but I did enjoy it.

“I used to think I might like being a blonde Kirstie Allsopp. However, it was less glamorous than I thought — lots of duplication and hanging around.

“But the day was fun and the team were great.”

As well as St Andrews, the couple starring in the episode considered a move to Provence or Barcelona and in the end they chose to start a new life in the French region.

Anna’s manager at Pagan Osborne, Linda Black, said: “Anna was absolutely the right person for the job.

“Luckily, fame hasn’t changed her too much and she still speaks to her colleagues.”
