John Brown’s challenge to defender Declan Gallagher

- SAINTS SWOOP: Continued from page 52

“HE HAS a great club pedigree and has played a couple of dozen games times for Bosnia so we know what we are getting from him,” saidWright.

Defender Wright will miss three Premiership matches — against Motherwell on Sunday then the games against Hearts and Kilmarnock — but will be available for the League Cup quarter-final against Morton at Cappielow on Wednesday night.

He was reported by referee Willie Collum for comments made to fourth official John Beaton as he left the pitch following his dismissal and those words were deemed sufficient for a second red card to be issued.

Meanwhile, midfielder Murray Davidson has returned to full training after nursing an ankle knock and will be fit for the Motherwell game.

ST JOHNSTONE have secured the signing of Bosnian international Sanel Jahic on a shortterm deal.

Manager Tommy Wright quickly made his mind up to sign the French-born central defender after seeing what he could do during a trial period at McDiarmid Park.

Jahic joins on a contract until the first week in January but with that good news came some bad, as it was confirmed that Frazer Wright has been banned for two games on top of his automatic one-game suspension for his red card at St Mirren last weekend.

Jahic comes with a wealth of experience and will provide considerable cover for Wright and the injured Steven Anderson.

The 31-year-old has played 24 times for Bosnia-Herzegovina, who have recently qualified for the World Cup, and lists AEK Athens, APOEL and, latterly, Karabukspor of Turkey among his former clubs.

“It is great to get him in and he will go straight into the squad for Sunday’s game against Motherwell,” said Wright.

“We had to wait on international clearance so it took a wee bit of time but it’s done now.”
