Training with the stars

-

YOUNGSTERS WERE delighted to train with football stars yesterday in Crieff.

Man of the moment, St Johnstone’s Stevie May, was accompanied by Scotland international Kris Boyd and former Rangers captain Derek Ferguson at Strathearn Community Campus.

The latter two were due to appear on BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound prog ramme, which was broadcast from the Strathearn venue.

Crieff Juniors were given the chance to train with the stars after applying to the BBC.

“Sportsound did something similar in Larbert recently and I think it went down really well,” said Diane Porter, secretary of Crieff Juniors

The event coincides with the launch of the Perth and Kinross Youth Football Association festival, which will be held at the Crieff campus on May 3 and 4.
