Man jailed for theft of bike stand

A MAN who stole a bike stand while on bail was jailed for six months yesterday.

Robert King, 44, of Haughfield Terrace, Cupar, was sentenced for the shoplifting offence from Lidl in Dundee on March 29.

Sentence was deferred on a further charge of breach of the peace by using a hypodermic syringe and needle and attempting to inject himself with what appeared to be blood in a common close of Leith Walk.

King will return to court in two months for the breach charge and his sixmonth sentence for the theft will be backdated to March 31.
