Explorer Scouts going for gold

FOUR CUPAR Explorer Scouts who have been presented with their Duke of Edinburgh silver awards are now going for gold.

At a presentation at Cupar Scout Hall, Ewan Jenks, Angus Craig, Owen Green and Calum Dunnett were presented with their silvers by Isobel Hill, from Caring for Cupar, where some have done volunteering work.

Shane Wilson was also presented with his bronze award.

Cupar Explorer Scout leader Donald Jenks said: “Between them the boys have undertaken a number of activities from rugby to sailing and swimming coaching to learning musical instruments but the culmination of their efforts is the expedition into the wilds of Scotland where they tested their navigation and camping skills.”

North-East Fife district commissioner Margaret Jones said: “All of the Explorers are to be congratulated for their commitment to achieving these awards.”
