School sends message to world leaders

-

A FIFE school is sending the message that education for children with disabilities must not be forgotten.

Pupils at St Agatha’s in Leven are taking part in the Send ALL My Friends to School campaign to remind world leaders it is children with disabilities who are missing out most on their right to an education.

In 2000, world leaders promised universal primary education by 2015 but, with only a year togo, 57 million children are still out of school and more than a third of them have a disability.

Youngsters are making colourful buddy figures to represent the estimated 24 million children with disabilities who are missing out on school.

They are being sent to Lindsay Roy MP to pass on to the Prime Minister.
