Hotel plan in the rough?

IT IS a proposal which will forever change the face of the home of golf.

Plans to build a £5 million, five-storey extension onto the Rusacks Hotel have teed-off but are unlikely to proceed smoothly through the planning stages.

The people of StAndrews can be fiercely protective of their townscape and The Royal Burgh of StAndrews Community Council has already objected.

Will their stance be enough to knock the proposal into the rough?
