The first in a trio of new one-off sitcoms under the banner of Comedy Playhouse, the long-running BBC anthology from the 1960s and 1970s that launched such programmes as Steptoe and Son, Last of the Summer Wine and Are You Being Served?

Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis plays TV weatherman Bill Onion, who is desperate to get back onto the small screen after being fired by the BBC.

He calls up his friend Jez, who knows a Channel 4 bigwig – but Jez’s wife-to-be isn’t too keen on any of her fiance’s idiotic friends.

Written and directed by Doug Naylor, one of the men behind Red Dwarf. Neil Morrissey, Helen George and Tracy-Ann Oberman co-star.
