Tully takes over reins at Shire
FORMER DUNDEE duo Craig Tully and George Shaw are set to take over as the management team at East Stirling.
Tully has been appointed head coach after a series of interviews at the weekend.
As well as playing for the Shire the 38-year-old was a centre back with Dundee, Forfar Athletic, Arbroath, Ross County, Elgin City, Peterhead, Stenhousemuir and Clyde.
He saw off competition from the former Stenhousemuir assistant manager Kevin McGoldrick and Motherwell coach Ricky Waddell to clinch the job from an original field of more than 20 applicants.
Club chairman Tony Ford said: “We are delighted to bring in Craig as he knows our club and was a popular figure when he was here.
“He is willing to leave success behind at Peterhead to come to us as he wants to develop his coaching career.
“He is a determined character, who was the captain at every club he played for and we are sure that he will be a good leader here.”
Tully is expected to bring in his former Dens team-mate Shaw to be his assistant when he starts work next week.
