Improvements to Young Farmers campsite

-

Young Farmers camping at this year’s Royal Highland Show are promised an enhanced experience as a result of a £30,000 investment in the site.

Show manager David Jackson is overseeing a programme of works that includes the installation of a permanent fence around the site.

Security teams at the entrance to the campsite will also be employed 24 hours a day throughout the show to ensure only those registered to enter, and wearing the appropriate wristband, are allowed access.

The measures will result in enhanced security and a more comfortable experience for the many Young Farmers who set up home at the campsite.

Mr Jackson said: “We are aware that last year there were some people entering the campsite without the appropriate authorisation.

“This will not happen for the 2015 show. We are committed to providing our Young Farmers with a positive and safe experience, and these new measures will assist us in delivering on this promise.”

Also nearing completion is an upgrade to the campsite shower blocks with the installation of a vanity unit with mirrors, additional shelving and plug points for hairdryers, electric shavers and hair straighteners.

The price has been brought into line with other show caravan sites, at £100 for the duration of the show, with the site open to members of Young Farmers Clubs anywhere in the country.
